On November 25-27 we took a trip down east to Pocossin Lakes, Alligator River, Lake Mattamuskeet and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuges. We ID'd 101 species including three Merlins and two Peregrine Falcons. Scott rented a 100-400 L Canon lens(retails for $1600) which produced some nice long distance shots (falcons, brants). The sunrise Friday was exceptional, even though I got up late. That is the real color as it appeared to me. The Thanksgiving buffet at OWENS restaurant was incredible!
Hopefully the bird identifications are all correct.
